ECG
In addition to the clinical examination, X-rays, blood tests, and ultrasound the electrocardiogram, the “ECG“, is an important part of the examination of the heart. The ECG is made while the animal is on its right side. If the animal resist too much, sedation may be necessary. The electrical activity of the heart is measured via a number of electrodes on the skin of the animal. The ECG gives a lot of information about the impulse conduction in the heart, the heart muscle condition and any arrhythmias.
